THE ONE AND ONLY WINE TASTING GUIDE IN SOUTH AFRICA

And the leading wine consuming country is… the USA!

The United States of America have become in 2011 the first country in terms of wine consumption in volume with 311.3 million cases of 9 liters (12 bottles) with a growth prediction of 10% between 2011 and 2015, ahead of France and Italy. (In volume)
China is also presenting a huge growth potential!

On a basis of consumption of wine per inhabitant per year, France is still the leader with 54 liters, with Italy coming short (53 liters), which represents a bottle per week per person (well, a little more, as I doubt that 4 years-old get their weekly allowance of Bordeaux or Barbaresco, even in latin countries…)
Americans are now at about 12 liters… Talk about potential!

If anyone has data about SA wine consumption in 2011 (volume and per inhabitant, please tell me, I’ll add them to this article, thanks!)
